CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Tuan Syed Mahdhar Syed Hussain

Syed Mahdhar is a scientist with more than 34 years of experience in the agriculture industry. He began his career in 1985 as an Agricultural Technologist in the oil palm, rubber, and cocoa sectors at Guthrie Group Berhad, where he served until 2007. He held the position of QA/QC Manager from 1992 to 1995, followed by roles as QA/QC and Safety Senior Manager from 1995 to 1999 before assuming the role of Total Quality and Environmental Management System (TQEMS) General Manager in 2001.
Following a merger in 2007, he was appointed as the Vice President of Quality, Safety & Sustainability (PSQM) at Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, where he served for approximately 5 years. He then became the Director of Standards and Compliance Division at Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Berhad in 2012. In 2018, he was appointed as Divisional Director of FGV Plantation till 2021.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Abu Yasir Abu Othman

Appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Mardec Berhad effective 1st August 2023. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. En. Abu Yasir holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from University Teknologi Mara. He has more than 10 years’ experience in accounting, finance and strategy spread across several local and international firms. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad, Director of Strategic Planning and Transformation in Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) which is a statutory body under the Government of Malaysia and the Group Chief Financial Officer in Felda Investment Corporation Sdn Bhd. En. Abu Yasir started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young and Finance Executive with a local firm prior to joining Felda. Following a merger in 2007, he was appointed as the Vice President of Quality, Safety & Sustainability (PSQM) at Sime Darby Plantation Berhad, where he served for approximately 5 years. He then became the Director of Standards and Compliance Division at Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Berhad in 2012.

TECHNICAL AND QUALITY ADVISOR

Hj Norul Huda Abdul Thamin

Norul Huda bin Abdul Thamin is a seasoned professional in the field of rubber technology and quality management, with a diverse skill set and a wealth of experience spanning several decades. In 1986, Norul Huda earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Polymer Science and Technology (Hons) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia. Norul Huda’s career journey has been marked by significant leadership roles and contributions in various organizations. As the General Manager of the Quality Department, he oversaw production, quality control, and marketing of green rubber, as well as the production and quality control of palm oil and palm olein under the Saji brand. His responsibilities also included managing product development from green rubber and ENR latex.
